我看2012秋新目标七年级英语上教材 初中英语的教学目标是:激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣,使学生树立自信心,养成良好的学习习惯和形成有效的学习策略,发展自主学习的能力和合作精神;使学生掌握一定的英语基础知识和听、说、读、写的基本技能,形成一定的综合英语语言运用能力;培养学生的观察、记忆、思维、想象能力和创造精神;帮助学生了解世界和中西方文化的差异,拓展视野,培养爱国主义精神,形成健全的人生观,为他们的终身学习和发展打下良好的基础。这是《教学大纲》和《课程标准》对初中英语教学提出的要求,一直以来,本着教好书的愿望,我,作为一个农村中学的英语教师努力着。然而诸多的原因让我的努力换来的却是收效甚微,其中也包括教材的原因。
新学期,我任七年级英语课。老早就听说今年教材改版了,几许好奇,几许期待,在2012年9月2日,新版新目标七年级英语教材终于揭开了她神秘的面纱。
拿到课本,首先看到的是封面设计,新教材一改往日蓝色为主色调的封面为绿色为主色调,给人一种新鲜,赏心悦目的感觉。
初看《新目标Go for it!》七年级上册新教材时,感觉没有什么变化,预备篇三个单元学字母,句子还是那些句子,第一单元什么Hello呀,Good morning呀,第二单元What’s this in English?第三单元What color is it?正式篇Unit One My name’s Gina. 看到这里,我心里对新教材多多少少有些失望,所谓的新教材也不过如此。然而,仔细看了一遍教材后,我改变了原有的看法。新教材在各方面都做了改进,归纳起来大致有如下变化。
(一).教学内容上的减少
教学内容上的减少主要体现在三个方面:
1. 单元数量的减少。原七年级上册一共有15个单元(包括预备篇3个单元和正式篇12个单元),而现在只有12个单元。(预备篇3个单元和正式篇9个单元)原教材中的第九、
十、十一单元删除。原教材中的复习单元也不复存在。
2. 教学容量的减。将七年级上册预备篇单元由原来的六页缩减到四页,这种改动保留了原书最核心的活动,如:字母教学和发音、基本词汇、语言功能句、歌谣和歌曲等。
3. 词汇量的减少
七年级上册总生词量由原来的487个减少到346个,人名由原来的74个减少到28个,减少了一些生僻的词汇,大大降低了起始年级的学习负担,增加了学生学习兴趣,为学生后面的学习打下扎实的基础。
在起始阶段,这样的内容上的减少,适当降低了教材的难度,让学生较好的完成从小学到初中阶段的平稳过渡。以前上七年级上册的内容都是在敢进度,15个单元加上两个复习单元整整17个单元,除去节假日,平均每周得上一个单元的内容,这样一来,导致了一开始,学生的基础就打得不牢,以至于后来也就渐渐对学英语失去了兴趣。
(二)、在教材内容方面的变化
1.新教材将原七年级上册第二单元(Unit 2 Is this your pencil?)和第三单元(Unit 3 This is mysister.)顺序对调。让学生先学Unit3 This is ... 的肯定句,再学一般疑问句Unit2 Is this ...?。这样一来更符合英语的语言学习规律,又可使前后单元的话题衔接起来。
2.增加操练的范例和分角色表演
修订后的SectionA中2c让学生谈论对话中的人物,然后呈现完整的口语范例2d供学生模仿输出。操练的示范再现了单元目标句型分角色表演让学生体会了英语在真实语境中的使用,还包括适当的扩展内容,为学生总结本单元语言结构提供了更多输入。在示范对话中,还呈现了真实交际中常见的口语语言(Oh, yeah. Oh, no.OK.)便于教师在口语交际策略方面给学生以指导。
3. 语法要点的改进
新教材中的Grammar Focus部分语法规律更加清晰,便于学生发现、探究、归纳,而且紧扣单元话题和核心词汇,重点突出。
新教材增加了各单元的语法学习内容,设计除了像以往一样有独立的语法页面,还设计了形式多样、不同层次的语法练习和活动,即3a-3c的练习,使学生对语法的掌握得到了很好的掌握与巩固,既有笔头练习,也有口头练习。
3a通过补全句子帮助学生从句式和语序上关注本单元所学的特殊疑问句、一般疑问句及其回答。
3b帮助训练学生在语境中使用正确的语言结构。
3c则提供了相对开放的口头交际活动,让学生在接近真实的语境中运用所学的语言结构。
4.阅读版块的增加
老版的新目标英语教材在七年级的阅读量很少,所选语篇篇幅较短,与后几册教材的阅读输入量不能形成较好的循序渐进的学习模式。新的教材从一开始就适当增加七年级上册的阅读量,各单元(不包括预备篇单元)均有一个阅读语篇,每个语篇平均词数约70-100词左右。旧版教材采用读写结合的编写方式,将阅读和写作紧密结合在一起,阅读语篇同时也是写作范例。此次修订将写作活动从阅读板块中分离出来。新教材每单元阅读板块独立完整,阅读部分由原书大约三分之一页面扩充成一页,力求对学生阅读的全过程给予针对性的指导,在活动形式上,增加了各种题型,提高了学生的阅读水平和能力。
5.写作的过程性和指导性
原版教材中写作板块的设计采用的是读写结合的编写方式,写作活动紧跟阅读活动之后,经常在时间不够的情况下,就被忽略了。修订后的教材写作板块从阅读板块中分离开来,单独设计,并移至各单元的最后一页,在阅读后,对语言知识也起到一个进一步运用的作用,并且让老师有充足的时间去指导孩子们的写作。
6. 语音学习
新教材除了保留预备篇单元和附录中原有的语音规则总结、朗读知识讲解以外,还在附录中增设了与每个单元内容同步的语音训练活动,包括基本发音的训练和朗读技巧的训练。基本发音训练中的单词大多是该单元学过的词汇,不仅加强了词汇复现,还引导学生主动去发现和总结单词读音规律。语音的分批学习,使语音学习更系统话。说实话,以前我很少这样系统的教孩子们学习语音知识。
7.英国英语和美国英语的差异。这两种语言的差异首先存在于语音方面,比如glass,英国英语读/gla:s/,而美国英语则读/glæs/;其次、英国英语和美国英语的差异也体现于单词拼写方面,比如英国英语拼colour,metre而美国英语则拼color,meter。在前版新目标英语教科书里,只对单词英式英语和美式英语的读音做了区别,没对拼写差异做注明,在新版新目标英语教材中,编者注意了这一点,把两种不同的拼写形式都在单词表中体现出来。让学生了解两种英语的不同。
除此之外,新教材每个单元仍分为Section A和Section B两部分,但层次更加清晰,Section A着重于听说训练,兼顾语法学习,Section B则在听说的基础上将话题进一步拓展,着重训练学生的阅读和写作技能,通过过程性的阅读和写作步骤,帮助学生能够灵活运用所学语言进行输出。各单元的Self Check活动设计形式丰富,涵盖面广且更侧重引导学生总结、归纳所学知识,形成有效的学习策略,提升学生的学习能力。
二、新教材存在的问题
(一)教材对农村学生的考虑仍不够充分
《新目标英语 Go for it 》是根据教材的编排顺序,应该是对从小学三年级到六年级的一个衔接,但对于广大农村的学生来说,由于师资力量不够,他们在小学从未学过英语,或者学校只是把英语作为所谓的豆芽学科加在某一位语文或数学老师头上,为了提高语文数学成绩,英语课的时间理所当然的被挤掉了。我曾问过很多学生,他们都提到小学三年级时对英语还蛮有兴趣,渐渐的也就无所谓了。与城市学生相比,用同一教材自然会形成一定的差距。这样一来,A部分中的2d对我的农村学生们来说简直太难。
另一方面,加上城市学生条件优越,他们大多可以配置相应的练习及听力磁带,光碟等,学生学起来肯定会轻松愉快。因此,我认为该教材更适用于大城市里有一定基础的学生,对于农村学生和县城学生此教材考虑得仍欠周到。
(二)、录音材料单一
本书配备的录音材料采用美式英语朗读,让一直以来说英式英语的我感觉很不习惯,以至于最后连自己也分不清是英式还是美式了,所以我觉得应该配备两套录音材料。
(三)、课时太少
教学大纲规定的七、八年级英语每周上5节课,九年级4节课。教学内容覆盖面广,学生基础差,加之一节课40分钟的时间,使A部分原本两到三节课的内容往往要花上四节课甚至一周的时间。英语作为一门外语,她在农村学校应该比语文数学的学习更难,作为薄弱学科,她至少应该和语文数学有相同的课时吧!
解决措施
在十几年的农村英语教学中,我一直以来积极的面对出现的困难,对于以上问题,我总结出来如下一些不太成熟的解决方法:
(一)、音标的学习
众所周知,学汉语首先要学拼音,在我看来学好英语,首先要会说会读音标,音标是学好标准英语的前提,而且词汇的记忆也少不了它。由于音标与汉语拼音本身有一些相似性,所以应充分运用这一特性,让学生从一开始就能掌握读音规律,从而快速准确记忆单词,所以我认为音标教学与字母应同时进行。
学习音标的方法很多,有字母掐头法。学习字母Ff,Ll,Mm,Nn,Ss,Xx的音标。
Ff /ef/ 去 /e/ 余 /f/ Ll/el/ 去 /e/ 余 /l/
Mm/e m/ 去 /e/余 / m/ Nn/en/ 去 /e/ 余 /n/
Ss/es/ 去 /e/ 余 /s/ Xx/eks/ 去 /e/ 余 /ks/
去尾法。学习字母Bb,Dd, Jj, Kk ,Pp,Tt,Vv, Zz,Cc的音标。采用汉语拼音区别对照法学习 g, h,y,w,r5 个辅音字母的音标和一些双元音的音标等等,这样做的目的是为了使学生从此以后可以自读单词,根据发音规律总结记忆,从而摆脱死记硬背的单词。
(二)、加强听说练习
加强听说练习具体的做法就是让学生边听边说,边说边听或先听后说,先说再听,或说说听听,听听说说,让学生在听中说,说中听,反复演练,造就一种听说的语言环境,如StarterUnitl,Section A 中就是让学生先听 I'm Amy .my name's Ben. 然后让学生自己介绍自己。
( 三 ) 、读写是重点
新教材的语法项目是按其结构的繁简循序渐进地安排的。新教材的语法教学方法主要是通过大量的有语言情景的句子对话,让学生听、说、读、写的全面练习中自然地感受和逐渐掌握词句的习惯搭配和正确的运用,因而教师应该准确把握语法教学的难易程度及深浅度。在培养读和写上下功夫。
(四)、调动学生的积极性
在教学中调动学生积极性,要给每一个学生机会,以达到训练运用语言的流利程度和运用所
学语言进行信息交流和实践目的,这个目的就是我们的教学目的,也可以说是这套教材编写的意向。
总之,我认为新教科书(Goforit!)的编排虽然仍存在一些不足,但她体现了以学习者为中心的教育理念和模式。教师安排的任务和活动可能由学习者个体来完成,而更多教学活动和任务则将会由集体共同来完成和执行,并且是在相互比赛、相互评比中执行的。新教科书的编排注重了学习者的自由、个人选择,通过启发创造性、经验学习、情感陶冶、发展个性、体现人的价值,促进学习者的自我实现的人本主义教育思想,真正体现了在玩中学习语言,在学习中玩的教育新理念,能让学生们在老师的引导下,更圆满的达成教学目标提出的要求。
