1、听耳机声音不宜过大，时间不宜过长。许多学生喜欢把MP3的声音调得非常大，而且喜欢长时间地听，这都是错误的。中学生听耳机的时间不能过长，每次不能超过30分钟，不能超过60分贝。”
2、不边听音乐边做作业。学生在学习的过程中，不应该边听音乐边做作业，要高度集中精力，提高效率，养成好的习惯。
3、听力受损应及早就医。中学生在听MP3的过程中，如果出现了耳朵发痒、耳鸣，说话不得不提高嗓门的情况，这就是听力受损的征兆，学生们应该及早就医，以免造成严重的后果。
4、噪音环境引起的听力损失应在三周内解决。市民应该在日常生活中采取适当措施保护听力，如避免长期待在喧嚣场所等。一旦发生因噪音引起的听力损失，应该立即到专科医院就诊，听神经受损伤水肿时间过长(超过三周)，就会出现神经变性、坏死，丧失听觉功能等症状。
5、远离噪音和爆炸现场 例如放爆竹，因为较大的噪音可引起噪音性耳聋，而爆炸声会造成爆震性耳聋。
6、远离烟酒和耳毒性药物
如链霉素、庆大霉素、卡那霉素等，因为它们对听神经有毒害作用。
7、避免打击头部
更不可掌击耳部，击打头部可并发听力损害，而掌击耳部可引起鼓膜破裂，生活中，因外力打击而造成耳朵功能受损的情况屡见不鲜。
8、擤鼻涕时要掌握正确的擤鼻方法
应左右鼻腔一个一个地擤，切勿将左右鼻孔同时捏闭擤鼻，因为鼻腔后部与中耳腔有一管腔(咽鼓管)相通，擤鼻不当可将鼻腔分泌物驱入中耳腔，引起中耳炎。
9、是否适合坐飞机
有感冒、上呼吸道感染、咽鼓管功能障碍者，不宜乘飞机旅行，否则可能引起航空性中耳炎，出现耳痛、鼓膜充血、中耳积液，甚至听力下降。
10、谨防其他疾病
全身系统性疾病引起耳聋者，临床上首推高血压与动脉硬化，肾病、糖尿病、甲状腺功能低下等也可引起，故对有这些病的患者应监护其听力。
